The European green New Deal is the roadmap the European Union has put forward to check environmental degradation and achieve the goal of becoming the first climate neutral continent by 2050. The current international situation has pushed the European Commission to accelerate its plans for the promotion of the recovery of the economic activity in Europe, with sustainability, the advancement of clean energies and the circular economy as basic pillars.
One of the clearly defined lines in this plan focuses on the improvement of energy efficiency in buildings, which demands the use of truly innovative processes and products, both in design and application. It is this approach based on the circular economy, understood as a model that emphasizes the utilisation of resources and the reuse of raw materials that FAVEKER® applies to its products. They are carefully thought out from their inception following eco-design criteria (raw materials, their origin and transportation, packaging, etc), but also bearing in mind that they must be sustainable in their manufacture – no ceramic waste or waste water spills, and with at least 40% of materials recycled-, in their application- with energy savings in the building of up to 40%- and finally, in their end-of life cycle, as they may be 100% recycled and/or valorised for their reuse.
Circularity and being environmentally friendly are basic tenets of GRES ARAGÓN and its brand FAVEKER®, as proven by the main certifications held: A range of its products hold the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) with dual European recognition through Global EDP and ECO Platform.
