Technical Seminar on Fire Prevention in Ventilated Façades
On April 30, Faveker, in collaboration with the Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Aragón (COAA), organized in Zaragoza the technical seminar “How to prevent fires in buildings with ventilated façades. Redesign of the Campanar building in Valencia”, aimed at professionals in architecture, construction, and building rehabilitation.
The session, held at the COAA headquarters, addressed one of the sector’s main current challenges: fire safety in ventilated façade systems. To do so, the real case of the Campanar building (Valencia) was used as a reference, allowing construction solutions to be analysed from a practical perspective.
Architect Batiste Boronat, from ARQUEHA and project director, presented the main technical challenges of the intervention, as well as the criteria that led to the selection of a ceramic façade as the building solution.
In turn, technical experts from Louvelia, Faveker, and ROCKWOOL Group, companies involved in the system development, presented the materials and systems used, providing insight into their technical characteristics, selection criteria, and applications according to project requirements.
During the seminar, the evolution of ceramic as a high-performance material for ventilated façades was also highlighted, emphasizing aspects such as the specific formulation of ceramic bodies, the development of fully validated system solutions under real conditions, and their contribution to building safety.
In the case of the Campanar building, the selected ceramic solution offers non-combustible behaviour (A1 classification), high-temperature stability, and no emission of toxic gases, reinforcing the safety of the building envelope.
The seminar provided an opportunity to share knowledge and experience around safe, efficient, and durable construction solutions, offering criteria applicable to future projects.
From Faveker, we would like to thank all speakers, collaborators, and attendees for their participation.
