Jadegården, Fredrikstad – Innovation and Design at the Heart of the City

Located in the center of Værstetorvet, in Fredrikstad, Norway, Jadegården plays a crucial role in the transformation of the area, bringing a modern and dynamic style to the urban landscape. Its facade, primarily clad with GA20 ceramic tiles, is designed to create a play of vertical and horizontal lines that add depth and texture. This design is not only aesthetically pleasing but also allows the facade to change its appearance throughout the day, depending on the sunlight, generating a sense of movement and dynamism.

The design of the GA20 ceramic tiles features a distinctive green oxide finish, a color exclusive to this project. The metallic finish, reminiscent of metal exposed to the elements, gives the facade a unique texture that varies with the light, creating a visual and tactile effect, especially noticeable when light reflects off the small irregularities in the surface. The ceramic tiles not only enhance the building’s beauty but also offer durability, ensuring the design remains intact over time.

The attachment system used in the project is the FTS 502B, which ensures secure, high-quality installation of the ceramic tiles. This system guarantees the stability of the facade and contributes to the structure’s durability, reinforcing the sustainability and efficiency of the project.
