New-build project for the heated swimming pool in Alcañiz

The Alcañiz Heated Swimming Pool is a new-build project designed to provide a functional, efficient space seamlessly integrated into its urban surroundings. Promoted by the City Council of Alcañiz and developed by Aragonesa de Obras Civiles, the project was designed by Sicilia y Asociados Arquitectura, under the direction of Joaquín Sicilia and Pilar Cenis. The architectural proposal is based on high-quality construction solutions that ensure durability, efficiency, and a contemporary image for the building.
In collaboration with FAVEKER®, the project incorporates a ceramic ventilated façade that provides visual continuity, improved energy performance, and enhanced landscape integration. This system optimizes the thermal performance of the building envelope, contributing to energy efficiency and reducing long-term maintenance requirements.
For the façade execution, Ordesa Natural GA20 panels (600×1200 mm) have been used, installed in a horizontal layout. This configuration emphasizes the building’s horizontal volume, creating a lighter and more balanced architectural reading. The natural finish of the panels supports a harmonious integration with the surroundings, delivering a sober, contemporary, and timeless appearance.
The 20 mm thickness GA20 system ensures high mechanical resistance and strong durability against environmental conditions. The precision manufacturing guarantees a uniform, high-quality aesthetic result. Installation was carried out using the FTS 506 system, providing a safe, stable, and efficient fixing solution for the ceramic ventilated façade.
This project reflects FAVEKER®’s commitment to advanced ceramic solutions that combine design, innovation, and technical performance. The result is an efficient, sustainable, and visually integrated building aligned with the demands of contemporary architecture.
